ARW + Mar Motto (online live sessions)

Sciaena – Oceans # Conservation # Awareness – in partnership with Route,presents throughout the month of June, a new online event mixing the two concepts: Mar Motto and Artivism Route Week (AWR),opening new possibilities to reach artists from all over the world to collectively create art inspired by the Oceans and their protection. Sciaena focuses on marine conservation and environmental awareness and believes in the power of art as a tool to communicate about the natural world and the threats it faces. It was in this way that the concept of Mar Motto emerged,  where Art is used as a means to convey the message of ocean conservation in a simple, incisive and creative way, seeking a foundation and a community to generate effective action from. Mar Motto is essentially an arts festival, organised once a year in a Portuguese city, where local, national and international artists are invited to create and exhibit works of art inspired by the oceans and the urgency to protect them. Route‘s mission is to promote the arts, community service, education and awareness to preserve the health of the world’s oceans, beaches and marine life. ARW was created to dedicate a week to the promotion of art as a means of questioning and raising awareness about the impacts of our consumption habits on the environment. Effectively, protecting the oceans needs to be an international effort and requires collaboration between nations. This year, Sciaena and Route are proudly taking exactly this approach by joining forces. Since this year neither of these events can take place, a new online event was created, merging the two concepts: ARW + Mar Motto. This new event consists of weekly online sessions with arts and music throughout the month of June – 4 sessions, 4 countries (Spain, Brazil, USA and Portugal) calling for the protection of our oceans.  Each session will take place in a different country, with live performances from visual artists and musicians through the channels of Youtube, Facebook and on the websites of Mar Motto and AWR.. Next Saturday, June 6, at 11 pm (CET), ARW + Mar Motto will travel to Pamplona, ​​Spain with the artist CORTE ART WORKS and music by SOLO JØNS. On June 13, it will continue to California, USA, on the 20th it will travel south to Brazil and ending this trip on the 27th in Portugal. More informations in here and here.
