Inês Sousa Surrogate

Graduated in Marine Biology and Fisheries from the University of Algarve, where she also completed her master’s degree with a specialisation in Marine Ecology and Conservation. Collaborates since 2002 in several monitoring and conservation projects for fish communities, with experience in underwater visual census techniques and experimental fishing. Between 2009 and 2012 she was part of the team of researchers of the Life-Biomares project: recovery and management of biodiversity at the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park. Her research interests include the effect of marine protected areas and modelling the distribution of fish species. In the same sense, she is interested in spatial ecology of marine species. She currently works at the Center for Marine Sciences as a research assistant.
