Rui Cabral e Silva

Degree in Biology from FCUL, Master in Marine and Coastal Studies from the University of Algarve and a PhD in Pathology in Aquaculture from Auburn University, AL, USA. His involvement in aquaculture began in 1988 in the Algarve, in a private company, and in 1992 he moved to the University of Algarve, where he continues to teach. With extensive management experience in higher education, from 2002 to 2016, he held the position of director of FCT-UAlg in the last of those six years. He has been involved in associative activities of different natures since sport, music, volunteer firefighters and the science center (Centro de Ciência Viva).
