Mafalda Tavares

Graduated in Marine Biology and Master in Marine Biology with specialization in Ecology and Marine Conservation at University of Algarve. She initially chose the course with the goal of studying marine mammals, but it was through the identification of algae that she discovered her true passion. She worked as a taxonomy specialist, was responsible for the UAlg herbarium and taught practical classes in Marine Botany at UALg. In 2014 she joined the team of a Science Communication company that enabled her to graduate in Graphic Design at ETIC Algarve and acquire skills in content creation,project management and financial management. Since 2021, she has been part of Sciaena, where she combines her background in biology, communication and design to create visually engaging content for a wide range of projects. In parallel, she supports the association’s accounting, helping to keep its administrative and financial organization.
