Mafalda Tavares

Degree in Marine Biology and Master in Marine Biology with specialization in Ecology and Marine Conservation at the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Algarve. She chose the course to study marine mammals, but it was in algae identification that she found her passion. She has worked as a taxonomy specialist on numerous projects, was responsible for the UAlg herbarium and more recently has given practical classes in Marine Botany at the same institution. In 2014 she joined the team of a Science Communication company that enabled her to graduate in Graphic Design at ETIC Algarve and acquire skills in content creation and project management. She is currently part of Sciaena, where she combines her training to create visually appealing content for a variety of projects.
