Major trends in marine fisheries – with Daniel Pauly

Next Tuesday, June 23, at 16:00 (5PM CEST), Sciaena will host a new webinar through Zoom under the title of “Major trends in marine fisheries” where we our keynote speaker will be Daniel Pauly, professor and the principal investigator of the Sea Around Us Project at the University of British Columbia and one of the biggest references in the world in fisheries science.
Dr. Pauly is also co-founder of FishBase.org,the online encyclopedia of more than 30,000 fish species and author of more than 500 scientific papers, including one of the most important papers regarding overfishing – “Fishing down the marine foodwebs“,published in Science in 1998.
Sciaena has been conducting this series of webinars as a way to promote public debate on key issues for our society and our oceans.
